I mean, it was the we tested it, we tried to see how sensitive they were to different movements.

And it lit up, it lit up in a way that was responsive, like a human would respond, you know, there was kind of a brief pause and a yes.

And then just nothing else happened the rest of the night, there were no more

They didn't respond to any other questions.

None of the other gadgets really did much.

But that was the first thing that happened.

And it kind of rattled me a little bit because it again, I couldn't explain it and I couldn't

was a pretty decisive like just the yes ball lit up and not the no one it was timed perfectly like a human response would be an answer in response to the question um so yeah i mean that gave me chills i still don't know what happened there how that worked um and again i was pretty sure they hadn't manipulated the they took it out of the package like in the room you know um

So yeah, I'm not sure what happened there, but it was definitely, it was scary for a second.

It was very weird.

Uh, part, part of it is because they're narrated, I think.

And there's something about narration that's more like, uh, is more central to storytelling maybe than just watching something that we have to stay engaged with.

So that sort of narrator is probably some of it.

Uh, in particular, some of the classic ones like forensics files, they have somebody who is very smooth voiced and just kind of almost calming in the way that they're speaking.

Right.

Even though they're talking about something terrible.

think that's part of it i think the other part of it is the people who more are more effective at falling asleep to true crime um probably are also better at predicting what the outcome will be and so it's um as they're watching it it's like oh i knew that was going to happen i knew that would happen because they've seen a lot of true crime right so that's kind of confirming to your own mind that uh

this is perhaps not something that you have to pay attention to.

You already know what's going to happen, right?

And that can be kind of a relaxing, calming feeling or sort of confident feeling, right?
