So there was one of the most famous, which it blew my mind when I saw it, was a Jurassic crocodile, which looked a little bit like a gharial croc.
So one of those like really, not kind of typical kind of saltwater, but one of those like fish eating things, really long snout, very narrow snout.
This individual had broken its lower jaw,
and it was preserved in a 90-degree downturn position, but it had healed.
It had this big bony callus.
So it lived probably for months, maybe even years, with this weird 90-degree downturn jaw, which is extraordinary.
And we see that in modern animals, like modern crocs and gharials, sometimes they'll have their entire jaws removed and still be able to survive.
It's wild, isn't it?
How the hell was that eaten?
Yeah, exactly that.
And one of the areas that I work on, like on ichthyosaurs and stuff, which obviously we touched upon, I know we'll chat a bit more about, like on ichthyosaurs, they're one of the most famous.
There's been more than 100 pregnant individuals found
And most of them come from a place in Germany, which is called Holzmarden, which is quite close, like Stuttgart.
And that area is like famous.
It's probably a breeding ground.
And it's very famous for extraordinary preservation.
In their case, there's one that was found with as many as eight fetuses inside.
Oh, my God.
And yeah, it's extraordinary.
I mean, one of them is a really tragic scenario.
