And that becomes, while I love leucine, you're not going to put on muscle if you just trigger the process.
It is.
There are things to think about when it comes to dietary protein.
One of the really important points, and I'm going to say this for your listeners, are very smart.
They might go into the literature and they say, well, you know what?
There isn't evidence to support that
Dietary protein has this massive impact if you aren't using resistance training on a whole host of things within the body.
And my argument is that the loss of muscle is very subtle over a 10-year period.
And how does this relate to protein?
Because people might say, well, we're already getting enough protein.
And the question is, well, enough protein for what?
For not being worse than yesterday?
Maybe.
But when it comes to aging, and then also the way that we think about randomized controlled trials is if sarcopenia is a 8% or so loss in a 10-year period, one, you could imagine that six months to six months and year to year,
the ability to test for it is low or the sensitivity of our standardized testing tends to be low.
So this is just something I want to mention because that is something that I hear as a criticism from physicians.
And I say, well, how much do you think is needed?
And in what time frame is that meaningful?
So that's my little soapbox.
I will now step off and talk about satiety and appetite regulation.
