And so what's driving our desire to build these insanely complex machines?
Well, how about the ability to play more realistic games?
story-based games?
How about the ability to construct more and more realistic fictional worlds?
Why?
Because it matters.
It matters.
So then we might ask yourself, what are we to make of fiction itself?
And a thoughtless rationalist would say, well, fiction is the opposite of fact.
That's a stupid answer.
