Instead of playing for four hours, I'll play for three.
I noticed a couple of really important things.
The first is that reducing your gaming from 20 hours a week to 18 hours a week is like basically no lost enjoyment.
But elevating your exercise from zero hours a week to going to the gym twice a week transforms your life.
So I think what a lot of people don't realize is that you can look at your life, which is absolute shit.
Like you can work out zero hours a week.
If you just work out two hours a week, you're not giving up a whole lot and you're actually getting a whole lot.
And if you kind of think about like, let's say like working on your resume, working on your resume for five hours every six months will drastically alter your life.
Just keeping it updated.
I'm going to update my resume once a quarter.
I'm going to spend one hour a quarter.
And then when it comes time to apply for your job, oh my God, I have to update my resume.
And so then you don't do it for three months.
It's already updated.
Just imagine how your life is.
I don't know if you ever applied for a job or when last time you did.
But if it's already updated, it makes things so much easier.
So what people don't realize, this is the biggest thing I've learned as a psychiatrist, is that if you have a gigantic problem, you don't need a gigantic solution.
And if you think you need a gigantic solution, then you think, oh my God, I have to do so much.
You need very little help.
