So there's even great science behind this.
So if you look at medical students...
They're very highly neurotic.
So neurotic means they have a tendency to worry.
And so when you and I are chilling, or maybe not you, when I'm chilling, you know, like I'm chilling on a Friday and medical students are at the library because they're afraid they're going to fail even though they're already at the top of the class.
So like our negative emotions are incredibly powerful motivators.
And if you've struggled with negative emotion, you know that, right?
You know how hard it is to do the opposite of what the negative emotion is telling you.
I can be excited.
Hey, Raj, I have this dream.
I'm going to write a screenplay one day.
I'm so excited.
I'm so curious.
I'll watch some Netflix.
That's easy to do.
But when my fear and my anxiety is saying, oh my God, these people don't like you, don't leave the house, everyone thinks you're pathetic, you're third in the class, you're a loser, it's hard to overcome that.
It's hard to overcome sadness.
