Okay, what the heck?
It's not the best, but I'll do that.
I'll absorb the red and green, and I'll reflect the red and the blue.
I'll absorb the red and the blue, and therefore I'll look green.
So they're green because they were the second lots of critters that came along to do photosynthesis.
Yeah, deep down in the water column.
I wrote about that in a four-wheel drive magazine called Overlander about 30 years ago.

Oh, like a knife to the heart, Peter.
Well, I was reading about this the other day.
It's the Atlantic Meridional or Meridial Overturning Current.
And it's part of a bigger thing called the thermohaline current.
Thermo means heat.
Halide means salt.
And this current goes around the world, shifting chunks of water the size of continents every second, transferring heat from here to there.
And the bit that's in the Atlantic is the AMOC.
And what it does is it starts off at the equator and heads north along the east and the west.
