All youth skills are learned best under play conditions.
In fact, I would go a step further and say that play is the secret sauce to any adult having any fun and sticking to something in the long term.
And if you watch a soccer practice of an elite team, it doesn't look like a lot of play.
It doesn't look like a lot of fun.
And no wonder kids are like, this sucks.
My friends aren't here.
It's not fun.
So we really have to think about that.
Protecting the sanctity of this play idea and exploration.
And David Epstein has a new book coming out about constraints and this constraint-led model of how can we create better play through a set of constraints.
That's how we problem solve.

Well, we've just stripped recess.
Like, you know, you see the, the playgrounds of the seventies and eighties were kill a child.
And now they're just like these neat little two foot off the ground round things.
There's no expiration, no, no feedback.
Um, you know, think about the number of times you jumped off a swing and, you know, peak velocity and peak apex.
Right.
