What happens when you decompose the outer layer of your skin or the epidermis, the bonds that hold it to the dermis, which is the under layer of your skin, start breaking down and your skin starts sloughing off.

This happens after several days of decomposition, especially if you're in a warm environment.

And then all your skin begins sloughing off, showing the dermis.

And in fact, your hands and feet will slip off in a glove and stocking-like distribution and still kind of stay intact.

But it's just a normal process of decomposition.

Well, let's first start with the delayed ruling.

Anytime a medical examiner delays a ruling means they're thinking about the investigative information and trying to make a decision that they didn't just say, oh, that's totally a hanging suicide.

There was more to it that they were thinking over.

The other problem is, is looking at the photograph.

A hanging, if it's a suspension type ligature hanging, it will pull up.

The ligature will actually pull up and create a V-shaped structure on the neck.
