Step number two, don't look at the clock.
Now, this turns out to be much more difficult than I ever imagined it would be for people.
Because here's what people do.
They grab their phone and they head to the can.
That's what people do in the middle of the night.
They're scrolling.
And here's the problem is the second you look at your phone, the time is there.
You instantly do the mental math and now you're pissed off.
It's 3.30 in the morning.
I'm up again.
This sucks.
Sleep, sleep, sleep.
And you try to force your brain to sleep.
Well, guess what you've done?
You've increased your heart rate.
You've increased your temperature.
And you've increased your anxiety just by looking at the clock or your phone.
So for sure, for sure, for sure, if you can avoid peeing, don't go pee.
But absolutely, positively, don't look at the clock.
If you look at the window and it's dark, go back to bed.
