But I'm here to tell you that there's actually a reason behind this, right?
So have you ever woken up at three o'clock in the morning for a good reason?
I haven't.
No, never.
There's always something wrong going on, right?
It's a child that needs something.
You heard a loud crash.
Your dog needs to go out, something.
It's never positive.
So what ends up happening is you have a negative mindset the second you wake up.
You can't help it.
It is biologically in your brain.
And look, I'm a cognitive behavioral therapist.
And one of the things I know is it's very difficult to stop your first thought, but it's not so difficult to stop your second thought, right?
And so your second thought should be,
okay, I've woken up.
I've tried a few of the techniques that I heard.
Unfortunately, it didn't work well for me.
I'm just going to lie here and relax and stay positive and allow the natural sleep process to take over.
If I feel my heart rate increasing, I've got a space somewhere in my home or apartment that I can go to and just relax.
