And so before puberty, estrogen is low.

So your daughter's estrogen levels are,

maybe not the 11-year-old, but certainly the younger ones, they're pretty low.

And if you are a parent to a little girl, you know that you don't really notice like a labia minora, right?

Now, when we get through puberty, that's when they kind of grow and blossom.

And they not only do that, but they get melanated.

Okay.

So you might notice that your labia darken too with puberty.

When we go through menopause, that is the other low estrogen state.

So before puberty, we're low.

After menopause, we're low.

And so one of the signs of like menopausal changes in the vagina, what we call GSM, it's got a term called GSM, genital urinary syndrome of menopause.

One of the telltale signs is these labia will be miniature or gone.
