The same thing has happened with psoriasis.
People have looked at the immunology of psoriasis, and you probably have seen all these commercials on TV with medications, and they are just fabulous.
And so we could take people with psoriasis and who were
Again, very uncomfortable, had bad rashes on their hands, their face, their scalp, groin area, trunk, extremities.
You put them on one of these medications and they get 90 to 100% better.
When these medicines first came out, maybe 15, 20 years ago, the FDA wanted to see a 50% improvement.
Now, if you apply for FDA approval, you have to show 90% or better improvement.
And this is all due to research of understanding the molecular biology and designing drugs that can interfere with the abnormalities.
If you go back even 10 years ago, what we do now is very different than what we would have done 10 or 15 years ago.
The diseases haven't changed, but our therapy has changed.
And I think it's made, frankly, it's a lot of fun to be a dermatologist treating these patients because you get them on the right medication and it changes their life.
Yeah, it's a very good question.
It's actually a very timely question.
