If you drop in right now and you're like, oh my God, I'm a ball of tension.
My jaw is clenched and my fists are clenched and my shoulders are up to my ears.
Chances are your body is in a state of
stress right now.
Similarly, if you notice, oh, I'm holding my breath, or I'm breathing so short and quick from my chest, those are markers that your body is under stress.
That then impacts your heart rate, right?
Feeling elevated, beating out of your chest.
All of that is giving you information that your body is under stress right now.
So once we have then that information, we can make small shifts in our physiology.
We can begin to slow and deepen our breath, right?
Elongating our exhale just a little longer than our inhale, right?
If our movements are really quick, we can slow them down.
If we're holding tension, we could practice releasing it.
And now what we're giving us access to is we're regulating our body so that we can begin to show up differently in those moments.
But for a lot of us, the journey begins by just noticing, whoa, I don't spend much time in my body, right?
I don't know how I feel.
I don't know when I'm hungry.
I don't know when I'm full.
I don't know what my body wants to eat.
These are great moments in time where you can drop in, which just simply means shift focus,
