But for them to hear that would have enraged them. I mean, because he's like, you think studying the scriptures, you're going to have eternal life. Well, who wouldn't agree with that even today? But the scriptures he's talking about obviously are in the Old Testament because they didn't have the New Testament or even what we're reading here. So I think that's why they got so angry.
