But then he says, verse 38, whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, and then he quotes the scripture, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Um, And we do know what this means because he does say he references the Holy Spirit in just a minute here.

But I thought it would be good to maybe go back and look at a few of these Old Testament verses because I think Jesus is referring to not just one verse in the Old Testament. I think he's referring to a collection of verses throughout the Old Testament to make his point that what he's bringing here

But the first one, and there's others besides this, I think, but Isaiah 58, 11 says, And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong. And you shall be like a watered garden.

I mean, what image pops up in your mind when you hear that? Like a watered garden? I immediately think of the garden itself. In Genesis chapter one, right? In Genesis chapter two, you'll be like a water garden, like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.

So if you take yourself and transport yourself back to the garden before the fall of man, Genesis two says that there was a river that actually came out of the garden or out of Eden. and it watered the garden. So that's the prophetic picture there in Isaiah.
