Evan, do birds really fear women more than men?
That's every birding experience, right?
So I see a bird, for example, I want to take a picture of.
First, I take a picture.
Then I get a little bit closer, take another picture.
And I keep doing that until it flies away.
And it's remarkably consistent how close you can get to birds before they fly away.
Does it matter the bird?
It really doesn't.
Yeah.
There are some exceptions, but for most wild birds, like ones that are not massively acclimated to humans, it is remarkably similar.
And I was very interested to read that they told them how to walk, which, of course, birders learn how to approach birds, too.
You know what the key factor is?
Slow pace.
Slow pace.
Low?
No, not really.
Noise?
Well, it's given that you're trying to be quiet.
Smooth.
