When I was writing the book and researching all the different psychology definitions of it, I really wanted to kind of come up with my belief of what resilience really is.
And it is not this concept of going back to what you were.
And I think that is really what a lot of people think resilience is.
Well, I just have to go back to where I was before whatever the traumatic event happened.
That means I'm resilient.
And what resilience to me is, is not moving backwards.
It's what I call bouncing forward.
So it's taking what happened to you and creating a new normal, a new vision, a new future that can be just as wonderful and beautiful and where you can derive just as much meaning, but it just looks different.
You might be a little bit different, but that doesn't mean that you can't pull every little morsel of joy out of life.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, you've got some medical there.
A lot of medical.
Yeah.
I mean, my father was like this larger than life figure.
He's from India.
He came here as an immigrant with no money and built his whole career and actually ended up being really one of the leaders in the field of cardiac electrophysiology.
And so I would watch him go and lecture around the world.
And when I was a little girl, I would actually go to the hospital with him and make rounds.
