It was a cassette tape.

and um well you i i burned that all right i recorded that off of you so i had i had the yeah i had the recorded version and my mom was horrified as well i'll tell you what though you are you are notorious you changed the entire pacific northwest you want so i moved we might jump around here i moved in 1988 in eighth grade and

we were friends so sixth grade to eighth grade and then i moved and my mom would find me back for two weeks every summer to stay with you and then i would fly and you'd come see me like usually once a year and i was was it spring break or during your school you i came when you were still at school one time yeah what was that i just had my wisdoms out it was right after spring break was it right after it was my spring break yeah we didn't care i was like i'm coming

But one summer, I came down to see you when I was 16, and you popped in Nine Inch Nails, Pretty Hate Machine.

And I burned that off of you, or I recorded it off of you, I guess, because this was before CDs.

I brought it back to Oregon.

And like, I kid you not, there are people to this day that come up to me and they're like...

You changed my life with that.

Like I showed up to Beaverton High School that year with Nine Inch Nails.

I had a Nine Inch Nails sticker on my truck.

I had the tape and I made all my friends listen to it.

And these were all little rocker kids.

These were like the kids that we were listening to, you know, Iron Maiden and Metallica in their basement.

And so now I have Nine Inch Nails.
