And obviously these are symptoms that you don't want, the bloating or something else, okay?
We talked a little bit about constipation. constipation creates food intolerances. When you eat food, you're going to feel unwell. I have had patients that literally just the thought of food gives them bloating. They haven't even eaten anything and they're already getting bloated. That's because anything that you put in your body, even water,

can make you feel bloated because the motility is thrown off. And that's what's creating the bloating, right? So be aware that if you're the type of person that you're sitting here and you're saying, I have bloating and it doesn't matter what I eat, everything, even will FODMAP food is making me feel bloated. Think about constipation. You need to think about that. All right.

Whereas with these other choices that we've now put on the table, FODMAPs and histamine Think about what are the specific foods? It shouldn't be everything. There should be specific foods that are triggering your symptoms. And then you process that information to give yourself guidance as to which of these issues is in fact the problem.

So if you are someone who's struggling with fermented foods, with vinegar, with fish, and with some of the foods that we've discussed, like spinach, tomatoes, avocados, a banana that's brown, things like this. If you're struggling with those things, think about histamine intolerance.

But if you're struggling with beans and whole grains and garlic and onions, or when you eat fruit, then you should think about, or dairy products, you should think about FODMAPs. Ultimately, the way that you prove it is by doing an elimination diet and actually going either low histamine or low FODMAP. And then when your symptoms go away, you just proved it.

With the sorghum, the question that you're asking me is, is this because of the FODMAP content of sorghum or is it that I just went too hard and too fast? And I think that the answer to that question is just too hard and too fast, right? But embedded in your question was, how does a person at home sort this out?

And to me, if it's a one-time deal where you had an issue, but yet you can go back to the food and feel okay, A one-time deal, I wouldn't make that much of it. But when you find that there's a consistency pattern that exists where a particular class of foods is causing trouble for you, then that's where we have to sort this out and clarify the answer to the question.
