If this is happening, absolutely.
But we are at that precipice where I know of several, probably half a dozen randomized controlled trials that are being run by
various independent organizations all over the world.
Some of them are pretty well progressed.
And so I think perhaps even later this year and certainly over the next couple of years, we're going to have some really interesting trial data.
But right now, it's something that's a very interesting, exciting hypothesis with good evidence to say there's something happening here.
But I don't think we're really at that level where we can say, yes, absolutely, this will help.
These are unanswered questions right now.
I suppose before we get into the potential risks and considerations with this diet, I do want to emphasize that this is largely being investigated as a therapeutic diet for people with a clinical diagnosis.
I don't think there's
much compelling data to say that we all need to move to a keto diet for general well-being and the rest of it.
This isn't something for prevention or for people without a clinical diagnosis.
I think much of
If we see a therapeutic benefit, it will be for people with a clinical diagnosis where the biological mechanisms and all the rest that we've discussed are perhaps altered compared to people without a clinical diagnosis.
So I think that's sort of an important thing to emphasize.
In terms of the medical considerations, I think
Two areas that particular considerations that can be managed is one, if you switch to a high saturated fat version of a ketogenic diet, there is a risk that your cholesterol levels get all out of whack, your LDL, bad cholesterol.
starts to rise.
And so I think that is particularly where, you know, medical supervision will be helpful to help sort of guide that to ensure that your lipid levels aren't, you know, being, you know, elevated and that if they are... With all of your bun-less cheeseburgers.
Yeah, exactly.
