So I'm like, okay, they probably want him to be on the lower teams.
He's 13.
So we can get a bunch of reps and play and have a great time.
And so I straight up asked him, I was like, do you want him playing on the top team where he's going to get very limited amount of playing time?
Or do you want him to be on the lower team where he's going to basically play every inning of every tournament?
And they're like, we want him on the top team.
Only simply because when they go out to lunch or they go to school with their friends, they can say my son is on the top team.
That is fucking ridiculous, Dre.
That's ridiculous.
He's 13.
All he wants to do is play with his friends.
Now he's going to be wondering why he's on the top team sitting the bench the whole time when this is the decision his parents made.
Now he doesn't get better.
He doesn't get to improve.
He doesn't even have any.
Nothing happens.
He just sits the bench and like.
Like, I was very honest with them.
Like, this is what's going to be the case.
And that is the prime example of the sort of the charade that parents put on to have this image of something rather than doing the thing simply because they love doing the thing.
