And that's kind of a premier facet case.
And we're not allowed into that.
So we've no idea how many Section 2s are turned down.
There mightn't be any.
I doubt there's too many because, like, you know, all these...
when you get the affidavits, you see they're all predated before the section two.
So all of that stuff is put before the judge.
So I imagine most of them do get past the premium, if I say, you know, stage.
But there is a kind of, I suppose, a question mark there that they don't always get it, you know, the way they want.
And sometimes we certainly saw it with Judge Alex Owens that, you know, he would be very particular and quite rightly so.
That if there was even, you know, 5% of the cash used came from legitimate sources, then after the house or the car or the jewellery or whatever is sold, that 5% will go back to the person whose money it was.
And he was quite fastidious about that, that somebody shouldn't be punished, you know, over and above, you know, what was fair.
um so i mean there is there is a kind of uh it is incumbent on on the bureau and the judiciary i guess as well to make sure justice is is done and it's fairly done so it's never it's never a kind of a rubber a white watch it's not it's definitely not a rubber stamp i mean they go through all the evidence and it can be quite tedious like you know and then some of that is kind of flown through pretty pretty quickly in court but like
the judges do pay attention to that and you're talking about hundreds and hundreds of pages of documents that are kind of outlining you know the movements of money through bank accounts to show that it couldn't have been from an insurance payment or it couldn't have been from you know a wedding gift or whatever because that money was long gone before the asset was acquired and all of that stuff which is difficult to report because it's very boring but it's absolutely central to the cases.
They were saying there was a direct link between the romance for that the money Pizza O'Brien had taken from this woman in County Limerick.
There was a direct link between some of those funds and the money that was used then to buy this house, albeit for a small amount of money.
But they were able to identify the chain of transactions that linked it.
So it was a very specific proceeds of criminal assets that were used to buy this house.
So that was the argument they're making, which Judge Liam Kennedy reserved his judgment.
So he's going to come back on that.
