Marketing costs for this would have been pretty astronomical, as you say.

But that is incredibly strong results from the first weekend.

As per The Guardian, women made up about 76% of the ticket buyers, according to post-track exit polls.

74% said they would definitely recommend the movie to friends.

Does that stat feel about right to you when you're in the cinema?

So we had to do a very quick synopsis in the car.

Well, just to pause on this, that's a pretty big deal, not just the Meryl Streep one, although I guess you could potentially argue that in many ways Meryl Streep has been a critically acclaimed actress and that has been her strength over the years.

But Oppenheimer, given the Barbenheimer of it all, that's a huge deal.

And I think what's interesting is when this film was initially announced a year or two ago,

I think I had a raised eyebrow and wondered why all of them were going back to do it.

And it felt at the time, a year or two ago, like maybe none of them had anywhere else to go.
