Wayne Cousins was into rape fantasies, sexual abuse, sexual violence.
He had spoken to many, many people about this.
He had shown other people the material that he was getting off to, including other police officers on the force.
His colleagues knew that he was a twisted man that fantasized about sexual violence.
The content that he was watching was intended to be viewed as a crime taking place.
Now we know that there is such a thing as consensual non-consent.
Some people enjoy with their partner in the privacy of their home, consensually acting out a scene of non-consent, but it is all consensual.
Do you get what I mean?
It's acting.
And that is supposed to be what a lot of the porn actors are engaging in.
I mean, you would hope.
Tragically, that is not always the case.
And that's a whole other awful tangent for another day.
But assuming that the content that he was watching was consensually acted out,
It's not an actual crime taking place, but that's not the point, is it?
It's supposed to look and feel like a crime to the viewer who is getting off on it.
