And Wayne Cousins' coworkers knew that he, as a police officer, fantasized and got off to
sexual crimes taking place.
But no one ever raised any alarms.
There were no notes on his record.
His boys had his back, I guess.
For three years before he ever met Sarah Everard, this man had been a problem waiting to happen and working
for the Metropolitan Police.
And God did he love to show off the fact that he was a cop, by the way.
He would tell anyone and everyone that would listen.
While he was off duty, maybe he's just at the pub or whatever, he would tell strangers and acquaintances alike, despite it being wholly unnecessary and unrelated to any topic of conversation.
He just loved that the phrase, I'm a police officer, carried a certain amount of power and intimidation.
He'd even walk around while he was off duty and in normal clothes with all of his police gear still attached to his belt, handcuffs and what have you.
Again, wholly unnecessary.
Is that even allowed, actually?
I wouldn't know, but it feels like that shouldn't be allowed if he's off duty to be walking around with
handcuffs attached to him and visibly displayed as well.
But you see the kind of man that this is.
He wanted everyone to know that he had control and power over them, especially in a physical sense.
I mean, carrying restraints and displaying them openly while you're off duty, why else would you ever do that unless you wanted people to know that you're willing to use them?
He didn't even need to say anything to be seen as threatening.
