Not even a coffee, you know, for the caffeine, for the energy.
It's almost like he's trying to comfort himself with comfort food.
A hot chocolate is that to me.
And he can actually be seen on CCTV inside that Costa coffee shop, rubbing his hands anxiously and looking around.
It seems like the guilt was already plaguing him.
Mind you, he still has to fully dispose of Sarah's body later on.
And I think that makes his little hot chocolate run even more horrifying.
Because this is a man that is mid-murder cover-up, stopping off for a sweet treat before continuing to execute his plan and handle this dead body.
The next thing he did was take care of Sarah's phone.
This is around 9.30am.
It seems he had cut up her SIM card and
thrown her actual phone into a river in Sandwich, Kent.
Later on in the investigation, parts of her SIM card would be found in his car.
That was crucial evidence that linked him to her in those early days of the disappearance.
By 11 a.m., he had pulled into a service station and bought an empty jerry can that he proceeded to fill at the pump with six liters of petrol, fuel that he would later use to burn Sarah's body
beyond recognition.
It's quite interesting to me just how brazen he is at this point in time.
It's not even been 11 hours since he committed this murder, but clearly he's quite confident that the crime won't trace back to him because here he is, full face on display, in his own car, knowing that all of this will show up on this car garage's CCTV footage.
He's not even trying to cover his tracks or obscure his identity in the process.
But his plan was quite clear.
