Right, and I think that was something that I believe it was that article with Joel Lorenzi over at The Athletic.
They kind of got an email clarification from him where Michael Reitzner kind of tried to walk back that statement a little bit.
But I think the whole situation here is β
Like you said, it's very backward.
I mean, why would you look to bring somebody in and then immediately handcuff them to a head coach?
Do I think that there's a possibility they could find someone who is good at the job and wants Billy Donovan in house?
Absolutely.
I think he's an extremely respected figure around the league.
We've seen that.
just through the interest in other jobs that he's received in the past handful of years.
So, you know, it's not out of the question, but it's also just like, why would, approaching things that way is obviously the big question fans have and media alike.
Like, why go into a search already putting restrictions on somebody?
I think that, and I think that's something Billy Donovan honestly might be thinking about as well.
It's something that he understands, right?
He might be looking at it like, well, that's an awkward way for me to go into this whole thing.
And I bet that's part of something he's considering as well.
I think it really does depend on who they bring in, right?
It's just, it comes down to the type of hire they want, whatever that person has to say, they can take it in whatever direction they go.
But that is the good thing about this job, I think.
