I mean, it's rough because it's like nobody wants to see a situation like this at all. At the end of the day, everybody wants what's best for Lincoln. And the bottom line is the way that y'all went about it with the mediation and stuff, I'd say that was probably the best way y'all could have. Because going back and forth, constantly arguing about it, it's not going to get anywhere.
And then y'all going to constantly hate, well, not constantly, but... the dislike to the other parent is going to grow and then it's going to cause more conflict than what needs to be versus just sitting down, figuring out what's the best for Lincoln.
I'd say, yeah, because, I mean, me and Javi, we don't, like, that was probably the first time that we actually, like, got to spend, like, kind of like one-on-one time and also do something with Lincoln and his show Lincoln that, we're able to come together and be there for him, practice with him, play around with him, have fun with him.
So it's good for him to see that versus other cases they don't get to see that at all. So I'd say it was a good thing that Spain happened so that way we can, the only thing we can do from here is go forward with it.
I mean I don't know you didn't really introduce us in the beginning I don't know I mean we said hey to each other but I mean I'm not no offense but I'm not a people person so it's like you don't say everybody knows I'm not a people person so it's like I don't I'm not about to I'm not always going to make the first move when it comes to like speaking to somebody but once after we spoke
Like, in Spain, I'm like, all right, well, we got the first, like, hey, what's up out the window. And I was kind of nervous at first playing soccer with everybody. You thought he was going to beat you? He was a soccer player. I don't know which way it's going to go. But once I got comfortable, I'm like, oh, yeah, it's fine.
We can sit here, play sports with Lincoln, and actually have a conversation.
I think it was her. Did she really? Yeah, because she was like, you going to play? You going to play? Which team are you going to be on? I'm like, I don't know.
Why I got to be a fairy, though?
I'd say yeah, for sure. I think so, yeah. Because at the end of the day, we're all here for one person. And if he needs me, he can call me. Vice versa. I know for, well, like he was saying, it's, I guess, peaceful for him knowing that he has somebody here. Which, I know I'm not as big in sports as you, but
Now that you're gone, I understand how Lincoln is about sports and how he really is into sports, so I will step up more to get involved with sports, make sure he's practicing, staying in shape, and stuff like that. Because while you're here, you're able to do that. And what you're not going to be here for, I guess, what, the next year?
Lincoln is going to, like, not necessarily, like, slip, but I don't want him to slip.
I just had some rough times when I was in Virginia. I was young and wild.
I'm surprised because everybody's like, oh, he's so mean.
I just look like somebody that don't talk. Once we get past the first little icebreaker, we'll be fine.
Are you excited about the boob job? Elijah, are we excited about the boob job? I mean, how small are we going?
He's like, I'm moving to Europe.
Thank you.
100%.
100%.
100.
100%.
Right.
Hey, so to explain what's been going on is I've been going to work every morning by a meter car that my parents let me use with my sister. Um, I live with my, I live with my parents. I worked at the local post office. Um, and I recently just got, uh, laid off because I wasn't able to keep up with the workflow.
I just wasn't fast enough. Like I couldn't get the mail out the window fast enough, uh, as I was delivering. Um,
Yes, sir. I'm a mailman.
I'm just kind of a slow human being. It's I tried my hardest. And they recognized. They were like, hey, we saw that you tried your hardest. We're not firing you. We're just... asking that you please resign because... Well, they fired you.
I mean, what's really... I'm not very intelligent. And I'm not fast-moved. Like, I just... How do I say this?
That's probably what it is. I mean, I've always been slower than my schoolmates. I've had, like... Okay. They'd always tell me, oh, I went and did this on Friday night. And I was like, wait, you were out? I was doing homework, trying to figure out the lesson.
Okay.
Uh, it's, it's not diagnosed or anything. I mean, I might be able to. go get it checked out at some point, but that's not my main concern right now.
You're right, yeah. Thank you for that. Calling that out actually made me think about it now. So they said they might be able to hire me or hire me back in a different position that works better. Great. You know, because they loved working with me. They were like, you tried your hardest. We'd love to have you. Love that, by the way. We'd love to have you back. Love that. Yeah. Yeah.
Um, but, um, they knew that that position just wasn't sure for me. So the problem here I'm having now is I'm now that now that I'm unsure about my, uh, position, I do not have a personal vehicle for myself.
Um, I have $8,500 saved up and I have a check. That's probably going to be a thousand dollars coming this Friday. from work. And then I do not know, cause I don't want to buy like a $3,000 car because you can't find a $3,000 car on car gurus or on, uh, any of the more reputable, uh, car sites. And then I go to Facebook and all the $3,000 cars are like, Oh, just needs starter.
Oh, just needs, uh, you know, blank. And it's like, okay, well,
Yep, that's what I'm trying to do. With the cash you have on hand. I'm trying to give myself a buffer.
And that's what makes me concerned, is I don't know how the... I'm not sure that the $7,000 cars are good long-term. Hold on a second.
Yeah. So what can you do? Hopefully they'll take me back into training for the new position. And what if they don't? If they don't, that's what I'm concerned about. Okay, but that's where I was at earlier. A big buffer of money so that I can find a proper job.
Something repetitive would probably work.
Anything you've done in the past? Well, I'm 21, so the only jobs I've done up to this point was I was a librarian at my college, and I was a – I worked at a McDonald's, not a McDonald's, at a Burger King.
I guess, yeah. Great. The library job was great. particularly easy. Great. It was mostly just sitting there. And it's a slower paced environment. Here's the deal.
Rachel, George, how you guys doing?
Excellent. Excellent. All right. So my wife and I are preparing to start a new chapter in our lives. We're going to be taking over her mom's business. It's a children's consignment shop. We're just kind of curious about what are the logistics behind moving the business over to us?
Wondering things like should the business be in one of our names, keeping one of us as an employee, is there tax benefits behind that? And also when it does get passed over to us, is there going to be a cost to us like as far as taxes go?
Her mom doesn't want to sell it to us. She just wants to give it to us.
And we just signed a 10 year lease. So we're going to be there for a little while.
Do you mean like like a strip mall sort of thing or like whose name is on what? Got it. So right now it's in my wife's name because we had to update the lease. So my mother-in-law said, all right, we'll put it in her name. So it's now my wife's name.
My wife signed a lease contract. That's about it for now.
Pretty much, yeah. My mother-in-law wants to retire, and wants to hand it over to my wife and I. And does your wife have any other siblings?
Luckily not. Okay. Luckily not.
I have not. I didn't even know that was a thing, but that's something I will look into. We have no idea where to start with this.
As far as like yearly profits?
Yeah, so last year projected around, it was around $740,000. Wow.
I never realized how much it actually brought in until I started asking more questions.
Not entirely the net. She said between the two of us, it would probably be around 350, 300.
No, she wants to stay home and babysit the grandkids.
What a great situation.
Phenomenal family. I've married into a phenomenal family.
Not at all, no. My wife loves it on multiple levels. That's great. About two years ago, I got hurt on the job. I was an electrician, so I can't do that anymore. So this is kind of my fallback, and it's something I enjoy.
