he should be able to like, I don't think parents need to fear their parents.
I mean, I don't think kids need to fear their parents, but I think that kids need to have a respect for their parents that when dad or mom said, Oh, don't say that.
They should be like, Oh, okay.
I don't need to say that because they just corrected me and they, they let me know how they felt about it, you know?
So, and I guess he felt like I was trying to take that from him, but I also grappled with,
If I allow him to discipline them, send them to their room, whatever, are they going to feel like I'm choosing his side over theirs?
That would be hard.
You know what I'm saying?
It was very difficult.
And my daughter, she had a lot of like what I would call daddy issues, you know, like her dad wasn't there.
Yeah.
And she really wanted him to be there.
And we took on the brunt of like, okay, you're going to your grandparents this weekend.
Then Michael calls and says, well, I'm not going to come in.
You know, I'm not going to be there.
Okay, well, your dad's not going to be there.
Oh, that's so sad.
Yeah, because she would always blame me.
And hell, he would too sometimes.
Like whenever he finally moved and got his own trailer, he lived like two hours away.
