This idea that men are inherently superior to women, when you add the God layer to that, that God created men superior to women, that's an uphill battle.
But I'm going to argue that that residue is still there.
The other thing that got kind of formed in this early church is this idea that your mind is pure and your body is dirty.
So to get closer to God, you transcend your body.
You climb up out of it into your mind to get closer to God.

That's not my experience.
Well, that's interesting because that almost goes with like Eastern.

So this is very white.
It's very Western Christianity.
Okay.
where you have to ignore the body.
You have to say your body is dirty to get closer to God.
You get closer to purity.
You get up into your mind.
Think about the pinnacle of the Greek society, which is where the early church formed, would be a man who's a philosopher or a politician who sits still, puts his feet up, and lives in his mind.
