So investigators say the prank is considered a longstanding tradition among some students during prom season.

Authorities reported that Hughes went outside during the incident, tripped and fell into the roadway and then was struck by the vehicle, which was driven by this 18 year old student.

Which I think the vehicle then stopped.

They didn't like race off.

And I believe, I'm probably getting ahead of you, but I believe the teacher waited for them.

He anticipated them to come and he was going to catch them in the act, but as a way of playing the game, playing along with them, not to catch them and turn them in, but to kind of have the laugh by catching them and...
