And so you have to have the separation to understand what are the behaviors and the things and the conditions that made that happen versus who and what are you and what is your suitability for that thing, that position, that leadership role, that company.
and then separate the two things.
I don't want anyone to believe that a failure means you shouldn't be doing things.
And this is the idea that your life is in seasons.
Think about how many careers you've had in one career, how many stages when you are trying to get things to when you start getting chosen for things, to when you can eventually choose your things, to when you're sitting here running your own thing.
There's all of these seasons.
And what was true of you at one point is not true of you anymore.
And so you have to realize that life is long and things change and they adapt and you've got to get into this mindset that actually you are in constant learning mode and your only job is to continue learning, continue absorbing the information and keep going because it's never that deep.
Can you imagine?
Listen, if there was an apple and a packet of crisps in the house, my mum was like, the four of them will be fine.
Here's the thing.
We have got to a point in culture because where are we, right?
We're sitting in this place where women are constantly asked, like, how do you balance it all?
Meanwhile, my husband, who does exactly the same, never asked a sausage of that question.
No.
Ever, ever, ever.
The other thing is the assumption that I have four kids and they're all at home starving because I'm not there.
So it's like somewhere between the two things.
I'm like, neither is true.
