If I'm honest, I didn't know it was happening.

I only understood it was a thing when PR were like, you need to, you know, really think about the way that you're saying that.

And actually subsequently in interviews when people are like, when you went viral,

Here's the thing that I really believe.

If you ask me this kind of notion of, you know, like work from home culture, it is career suicide for women.

And let me tell you why.

I employ enough women to know what actually happens when they work from home.

When they work from home, the husband or the partner doesn't think that childcare is needed, right?

So this woman who is now at home in her office trying to get her work done, sit in her living room table, kitchen table, in her bedroom, wherever she is, also has the lion's share of the kids to then deal with.

I'm like, what is that all about?

She's working from home.

She's not like doing...

She's working.

She's not doing the school run, making the packed lunch, picking up the kid at whatever time.

You're supposed to be working from home.

Also, what you have to understand is that proximity and visibility is key for career progression.

And when you are out of sight, you're out of mind.
