And this is what was really just doing the dang thing for me. So Ezekiel is also another prophet. And man, this just did it for me. Ezekiel 33, starting in verse 11, it says, "...say to them, as surely as I live, declares the sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live." Turn, turn from your evil ways.

Why will you die, people of Israel? My God, I just feel the heart of the Lord begging his people to turn, turn back. We're going to go to the rest of this and it's crazy. Verse 12, therefore, son of man, say to your people, if someone who is righteous disobeys, that person's former righteousness will count for nothing.

And if someone who is wicked repents, that person's former wickedness will not bring condemnation. Whoa, whoa, whoa. What did we just hear? If someone who is righteous disobeys. So what does this look like? Someone who you think is on the tip top of Christianity, self-righteous, can't get nothing wrong. They just doing the things of God. If they disobeyed,

if they disobey, that person's former righteousness will count for nothing. And then it says, someone who is wicked repents, aka turns back to God. That person's former wickedness will not bring condemnation. Continuing on, the righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous.

If I tell a righteous person that they will surely live, but then they trust in their own righteousness and do evil, that's None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered and they will die for the evil that they have done. And if I say to a wicked person, you will surely die, but they turn away from their sin and do what is just and right.

If they give back what they took and pledge for alone, return what they have stolen, follow the decrees that give life and do no evil. That person will surely live. They will not die. None of the sins of that person has been committed will be remembered against them. They have done what is just and what is right, and surely they will live.

Yet your people say, The way of the Lord is not just, but it is their way that is not just. If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, they will die for it. And if a wicked person turns from their wickedness and does what is just and right, they will live by doing so. Yet you Israelites say, The way of the Lord is not just, but I will judge each of you according."

And so when we read the scripture of Ezekiel 33, Ezekiel is urging the people of God, he is urging the Israelites that one good deed and being faithful all these years doesn't just like store up for you righteousness because it's not by your own works. It's by you staying in the heart of the Father. You don't stay alive and you don't gain eternal life just by what you've done. Sure, like,
