It just means teams that need to tread water without their starting catcher, not a backup starter.
it's okay that you're still hanging around.
You just can't get completely out of it.
And you gotta continue to play your game until he's back to anchor, anchor this rotation and really anchor this team.
Ooh, it's electric.
I mean, now that he's trying to โ now he's throwing that cutter a little bit more.
From that arm angle, that height, I'm not saying it is Trey Savage because Trey Savage is so unique and so tough on hitters because it's something different.
But here's where I talk about Schlittler and I say, well, why would the Jays have โ
based on the league, have more success than other teams.
Because they don't strike out.
Because they're not going to fan at that 98 mile an hour cutter, which is essentially just a fastball that moves like a cutter, that is going off the plate.
They're going to be able to make contact with it.
A lot of the league says, I'm going to do damage on balls in the middle of the plate.
And Cam Schlittler
doesn't allow you to do damage on it because of how everything he starts is middle, middle, and it just runs off, and you have no time to make that adjustment, where the Jays are really, really able.
They're so good at...
being able to hit those pitches that are gonna be on the corner that other teams take and their strikes, or they swing and miss at because they're only swinging for middle-middle, which is a great approach.
My approach when I played was I'm gonna hit the ball.
If it's a little bit off, I'm still gonna try to hit the ball.
And I was able to make contact.
