Adaptive QoS grows the I.O.

to match both the size of the volume to provide an SLA and the amount of data in the volume to make sure that the application actually speeds up over time as it writes more data.

Right.

Now, Naga's been a little bit shy about the overall vision and strategy of this product.

Right now, it kind of sounds like it's, you know, just a really fancy resource manager for ONTAP alone.

Maybe, Naga, you could share a vision of where you want to take this product as its product manager.

Absolutely.

So I think there's probably some folks on the call that are numbers oriented.

They're bottom line oriented.

So what does this really do for me?

Is it just, you know, really fun, cool technology?

Or does it really mean something in terms of transforming how IT serves its business purposes?

There's two huge forces at work.

One is IT is trying to drive down cost.

TCO become much, much more efficient.

And at the same time, drive up agility, be able to say yes to almost every requirement today, right?

And so this is what it does, right?

The street price for public cloud storage is somewhere between $0.09 a gig on the low end with a little bit of performance and about $1.80 on the high end for a lot of performance.
