Well, apparently Terry McFlynn, director of football, told Jesus, our mates at RNZ, that they've been practicing this this week.
Hey, do you know, shock horror, Bodie Barrett, he practices goal kicking.
Yeah, so when the team finish training, he kicks goals and stuff.
Good shit, Terry, by the way, mate.
Good on you for giving them a bit of a run through with the penalty shootout this week.
But he said that they practiced the walk from halfway to the goal line.
I was like, I'd rather they practice smacking it into the back of the net.
But hey, boys, you know this week we play in the A-League, so the elimination final, the chances of there being fucking no goals quite high.
But if there is going to be a couple, then it'll probably be one-all, so you need to practice these things if that's right.
If it gets to 10-all, you know how it gets to 10-all in penalties, I reckon you need to pick a fan.
Pick someone from the board and just kind of slap it into the back of the net.
One of the few bits of enjoyment I found out of him saying, like, ground announcing for Auckland FC and doing the pre-match kind of humiliation around, like, fan games at halftime and stuff like that was just actually how useless fans are at the sport that they're watching.
