David Rowley, you were in court last week.
You were reporting on the case involving Bill and Alison Chalk.
Now they're the son and daughter of the well-known publican Charlie Chalk.
A very familiar name, not just in Dublin, probably throughout the country.
So why were they in Limerick's Circuit Criminal Court?
And how did this situation develop?
What preceded the assault?
Yeah, and I suppose the reason you were able to give us such detailed descriptions is because this is all played out on pretty good CCTV.
So basically on foot of that, you're saying Bill Chalk is arrested at a later date by appointment.
Alison Chalk arrested on the night and then released.
But subsequently a file is prepared for the DPP and they face prosecution.
Did Bill and Alison Chalk provide any explanation for their behaviour or any sort of defence of their actions?
Okay, so as you say, they have pleaded guilty to assault causing harm.
There was an expectation of a sentencing on Monday, but that's delayed.
You're expecting a civil action here as well for damages by Mr McHugh and Mr Cox.
Okay.
David, we'll wait to hear from you on the sentencing and thank you for joining us.
Cheers, Manon.
