John Mulligan the name Charlie Chalk it's probably familiar to a lot of people as a result of his involvement in the pub trade and some very well-known pubs around the country but tell me about his background how did he start out in that business?
Yeah, but he didn't stick with it there, though.
While he's still associated with the village, or it's almost a town, at this stage you'd refer to it.
He came up to Dublin, and that's really where he prospered.

Talk to us about some of the names or the
people might be familiar with because they've deliberately or inadvertently had a pint or a bit of lunch there.
Here at the Goat Grill in Goatstown, it's a great venue for a business meet and our family get together.
These are what I suppose people from down the country would often call super pubs above in Dublin.
Some of them are city centre, but they're big establishment.
The other ones are out in the burbs.
But again, they're well-run.
There's a particular kind of genteel aesthetic to them.

How does it do though financially?
What's the rundown there?
Again, well-known figure publicly, I suppose, within the pub trade because he has so many pubs himself.
But he got together a consortium and they went into the football business before, in the days before Arab sheiks were taken over and American billionaires were taken over clubs.
Yeah, and he has unfortunately come to prominence in the past as a result of an incident that happened at one of his pubs over 20 years ago.
