And like you said, it's pretty clear that he's not confident right now.

If he's operating on an expired contract, it almost feels like this collaborative process that's supposed to work

where there isn't really a final decision to be made most of the time.

You're just going to cave against your principles and let John Harbaugh have that piece of paper in his hand to throw in your face at all times.

And then your process is no longer collaborative.

It's just John Harbaugh running everything, which you did not hire him to do.

You hired him to be the head coach of your team.
