And that was really a big struggle for me. When you saw me on the Oprah stage, that's the journey. That was the era I was in of trying to conceive. And then I did conceive my son through IUI, my son Oliver. And then I had severe suicidal postpartum depression after that pregnancy. And

By the grace of God, about four months into my depression and genuine suicidal ideation, I finally stopped trying to wellness my way out of it and take ashwagandha or do acupuncture or whatever the fuck I was trying to do. And I got on a medicated path with, it was having a biochemical condition and I got on the path of being on a medication. And that medication saved my life.

But what I wasn't doing at that time was the full-blown hormone panels. And just last night, I'm talking to my hormone doctor, which I have the privilege of talking to. Not everybody's going to have this, right? So I want to just kind of give them what you can do. But I'm on this phone with this expert, and I'm telling her this story. And she's like, OK, good.

You needed leveling of your hormones at that time because when you lose all that estrogen so quickly, whether it's in perimenopause or after your postpartum experience or in menopause, you go into the most severe, dark places that can take your life and you cannot mess around with that.
