So where did this go that you have in you now when you weren't a writer for a living?

Were you the person who was wise all the time?

Were you the person that people sought counsel from?

And writing was certainly the thing that helped you shift that mental state.

you perform so beautifully you know all the films i've seen of you at festivals and things and so actually i understand a bit more about why you're so good at that if you were singing your songs to people but that you that kind of performance wasn't something that came as an alien concept to you do you enjoy the performances

So instead you would say to yourself, this is going to go really well.

This is my happy place being on this stage.

When was the last time that you had this?

What were you doing?

What more do I need to say?

They must have seen some of this in you, obviously, before.

So I guess, yes, teenage boys, they're never going to be too effusive about it.

That's lovely.

I mean, that is a huge seal of approval.

Although I think we do have a bit of a right to embarrass our kids at certain points.

Oh, definitely.

Are you asked, though, by their school to kind of send signed books and things like that?

Yes.
