You seem like a very capable woman.

I was from capable stock.

My mother was very capable.

My mother had a very in many ways a sad life because she was an only child and she was orphaned by the time she was eight.

So her mother died when she was two and her father died when she was eight.

And she was then immediately packed off to boarding school and lived with a sort of branch of the family that were.

And weirdly, for that time, a maiden aunt with her mother, the mother had dementia and the maiden aunt worked.

You know, she had a career.

So that hence the boarding school.

And I think it made her very self-reliant and very, you know, determined.

And she had to be.

She was a survivor and she very much instilled that in all of us.

amazing qualities was she also able to find she obviously wanted to be a mum in spite of everything that happened to her and she wanted lots of children so she had four and was she naturally very caring

She was.

So she actually had four children over quite a long span of time.

And again, back then, she didn't finish university because she married my father and got pregnant immediately.

So university was out the window.

Then had the rest of us.

And then when I was about 11, she went back to college and actually qualified and then became a social worker.

and worked with children and families in the family services.
