I'm a singer, right?
I can play a slight rhythm.
And I could probably knock out The Wanderer.
That would be about it.
But I'm not about to do that on live.
No, I'm saying that it's hard enough as a manager.
You get lots of criticism as a manager.
I don't need to heap more criticism on my guitar playing, so no chance.
I'll tell you what my biggest strength is as a manager after a huge period of self-reflection lately and being on the LMA diploma and things like that is relationships relationships with people and I think the two guys in your studio they will know well at home sorry will know that
relationships, when you want to play for a manager, when you believe in a manager, in the person, it doesn't matter about the tactics, tactics become secondary.
And I think relationships with the board, with everybody, being the person you are, not trying to be different, but in this job because of who I am,
but relationships with everyone.
It's so important to keep good relationships and talking.
I mean, it's come out lately a lot about the mental health, which is so important, but talking to people is so important.
And the hard conversations are the ones with the players who aren't playing, the ones who will be left out.
And I've known managers who will walk past the player in a corridor
and won't speak to them because they're not playing them at the moment.
And that's terrible because those players need that word.
And they'll go and tell the other players, no doubt.
And then you lose your relationship with the other players.
