It was a hard thing to be able to do.
Damn right.
I remember... So we're just reminiscing, by the way.
This is a full-on Neil Dennehy ramble.
I just think it's come to mind as we're talking that when I had retired as a footy player, I was under his watch, of which he said it was a good decision.
He didn't...
He didn't try and talk me out of it.
But he must have, you know, I said that, did the, you know, the bigotry retirement speech to the boys.
And then I left because I got emotional.
I didn't want to stay.
And he then spoke apparently, which I subscribed.
And the thing he said about me to the players I'd played, you know, Todd, he said, you know what?
He tried every time.
Mm-hmm.
That's it.
You think that's faint praise?
No.
No, that's not faint praise.
No, no, no, no, no.
That to me is one of the best things I've ever had said about me.
