I was working at the track at Fastlane.

And I ran Gary, and this was on Thursday.

I flew to Melbourne that Sunday.

We tested on the Monday.

Oh, no, the Tuesday.

And I raced that weekend.

So in just over seven days, I went from nothing to doing a supercars race with a test in the middle.

And so we did the test, and I never did a practice start.

So I was like, I said, oh, how do you start these things?

And they said, just hold it on the limiter and go.

Because back then, that's what you did.

You just put 100% throttle on the limiter and just dump the clutch and they just take off.

And I was like, okay, no worries.

So the first time I'd ever held her on the limiter and the thing, you know, the noise.

It was like, this thing is going to throw all the valve springs out the rocker covers.

So I just eased right back off the throttle and the light went off and it just...

Oh, you're like, you're literally in the time it takes you to get to wherever the start button was and restart again.

My career's over before it even began.

You know, it's like time slows down and you're just like, oh no.

But you know, away you go.
