So it was a one-off deal to do Phillip Island.

That was like, yeah, we'll just give you a run and see what it's like.

And other than stalling it, it went pretty well.

Other than that, after that, it went all right.

So from that point on, Gary gave me a deal for the rest of the year.

So just till the end of 98.

So I think I did seven or eight races that year.

Well, if Bathurst wins the most, it's like asking who's your favourite child.

I better get it this year than I hope.

I was starting to go bald in 99, and since then it's been fine.

No, um, yeah, look, um, the first time I finished Bathurst was 2000 when I won it.

So, so like I was 23 and I was like, and I was, you know, what, 23, you know, I remember when you guys were 23 and you're racing the main game, you sort of think, you know, you're pretty cool and you know, your shit doesn't stink.

And then, so I used to think, ah, all you got to do is finish this race and you'll be somewhere near the front.

And it was like nine years later before I won it again.

And it's in those nine years, every year you go, oh, I underestimated how hard this was.

I underestimated it.

And it feels like it's getting further away than closer, the second one.
