And it fitted supercars the way that the series worked in 98, 99 and 2000 because they were three 20-minute sprint races.
It was like build a fast, reliable car, go out and drive it.
So it fitted, the way the team was structured, it fit the championship in that era.
But then in 01, 02 and from 01 onwards effectively, there was longer races, there was pit stops, strategy started to become a thing.
And we didn't even have a full-time in-house engineer.
So our engineer, we had one engineer between the two drivers.
So there was no, as strategy started and HRT were at the front of that, they were very good at that.
As strategy started to become a thing, we didn't, at the time, GRM didn't adapt and didn't see the necessity to evolve the race team.
And I stuck it out for a while there and I got to the point, I was like, ah, this is, and I loved Gary, absolutely, but he wasn't going to change.
