Raced on the dirt for three or four years and then moved to bitumen karting at Tiger Kart Club at Coburn initially and then at Wanneroo at the kart track there.
So, yeah, I was playing AFL footy on Saturdays and racing karts on Sundays and then had to make a decision because the AFL comp changed to Sundays and I had to decide whether I wanted to
I either play footy on a Sunday or race go-karts on a Sunday, and I chose go-karting.
I don't think I would have been still playing footy at 48 or whatever I was last year.
I finished the karts when I was about 17.
I don't think you could race cars till 16 back then.

And then started in Formula Ford in Perth with Fastlane.
The year we did the championship, the Formula Ford Championship 97, the car lived on the East Coast.
So we based it on the East Coast and we flew backwards and forwards all the time.
But we had got to the point, because we were going pretty well and we were winning races and it's like a Formula Ford, if you're winning races, clearly you're cheating.
